Wonderful base for exploring Key West. The breakfast was always good, appreciated it. In addition, free Wi-Fi was handy.
The little french little french hotel had friendly staff. Free parking on-site was provided.
It's a great location. Free parking. Normal breakfast
Not a 24-hour front desk
The location(in a residential area) was so nice. It was a short walk to the beach and to Duval Street. The management was very nice and helpful.
Even though the facility is nonsmoking, smoking was everywhere on the patios and in the breakfast area. I have asked the management to please consider no smoking in the breakfast area.
Checking in was very personable and we created an itinerary with the help of Derek. He recommended places to go and places to eat which were all just perfect. Breakfast was an expanded continental breakfast on the patio. Once you park your car, the location is situated so as you can walk to everywhere in old town key west. Close enough to see everything just far enough away to avoid to leave late night Duvall street behind
It was idyllic; warm welcome, glorious room, stunning courtyard breakfast location, brilliant location for Old Town Key West
We had never visited Key West before. So the owner greeted us upon our arrival and explained the best sites to see and reataurants to eat at in town, as well as the paces to be avoided. This was useful information. The setting is a litte off the beaten track, which makes for peace and quiet. Also there is adequate reserved auto parking.
The main room could use a chest of drawrers and another armchair. The room is generally furnished in wicker, and so a wicker chest and chair could be procured at reasonable cost. There is room for them. A similar comment about the bathroom--another flat surface, either a chest or Parsons table, would help for storage of toiletries and bath items. The tv screen is too small for present tastes and should be mounted at eye level. It is too high to be comfortably watched.
We stayed 2 nights in "the Grand". That is how the locals call it :-) It was a nice quiet place where we had the opportunity to take a rest after a busy day of sightseeing Key West. The rooms are very clean and very nice to stay. Excellent and just perfect. The house is completely surrounded by high trees that gives a nice cool feeling. Pleasant to stay. Thanks to Derrick for advising us all the best places to go in Key West.
The hotel's manager, Derrick, was awesome . The room was clean. The staff was very nice. The bike rental was perfect, no driving necessary. The recommendations for food were spot on. The landscape was picturesque yet private and secluded. No roosters!! A huge plus. Continental breakfast was good. Great price and couldn't be happier about the lodging. We will definitely be back and will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Nothing, everything was perfect.
Derek was great in telling us about the area and how to get the most out of our visit. He even called the jet ski rental place to confirm our reseveration and provided a great map. We met the owners the next day and they told us about moving to the area and seemed to really enjoy their jobs
Need a little landscaping around the bikes so they would easier to get in and out
Typical pleasant house surrounded by the garden where breakfast (includedin the price) is served . Nice bright rooms . Located in quiet neighbourhood yet not far away from Duval street
The Grand was in a good location and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was nicely done with fruit, bagels and muffins. The best feature of the B&B was Derek the manager. His suggestions for dinner were excellent and his suggestion that we use the bikes to get around made the trip.
room was too small, did not correspond to what was shown to us on line , the little ac was not cold enough and made a lot of noises
The owners and staff were extremely helpful.
It is located a little far from Duval Street, if walking.
Greeting upon arrival was courteous, professional, and very helpful. Room and bathroom were immaculate, with towels truly white and fluffy. Room was attractively decorated. A/C was adjusted to perfect temperature. Breakfast (Continental) had fresh and abundant food. Parking was adequate (rare in Key West). Outside areas were delightful--reinforcing the Tropical Paradise stature of Key West, complete with a wonderful hammock. A good value, especially in high season. Was in a quiet street without any noise (nor crowing roosters). A most relaxing place to read and refresh, but close enough to downtown action, too. One felt as a guest at a private home, rather than in a hotel.
Needed hooks on bathroom door or wall to hang robes, etc. A larger shelf for cosmetics/bathroom toiletries would be helpful. Reading lights could be improved.
